The TP-Link CPE220 Outdoor Wireless Access Point is designed to provide reliable outdoor wireless connectivity for long-distance networking applications. Operating on the 2.4GHz frequency band, it delivers wireless speeds of up to 300Mbps and features a powerful built-in 12dBi directional antenna. It is an excellent networking solution for point-to-point wireless bridges, point-to-multipoint connections, and outdoor wireless coverage.

2.4GHz Wireless Speed up to 300Mbps

The TP-Link CPE220 supports 2.4GHz wireless networking with speeds of up to 300Mbps. Its IEEE 802.11b/g/n compatibility makes it suitable for different wireless networking environments. The 2.4GHz frequency offers practical connectivity for outdoor installations and compatible wireless devices.

Built-in 12dBi Directional Antenna

Equipped with a built-in 12dBi 2×2 dual-polarized directional MIMO antenna, the CPE220 is designed for focused wireless signal transmission and reception. Its directional antenna helps establish wireless connections between suitable locations.

This makes it suitable for outdoor networking projects where a directional wireless link is required.

Long-Distance Point-to-Point Wireless Bridge

The TP-Link CPE220 is designed for long-distance wireless data transmission. TP-Link reports that the device has been field-tested for wireless transmission distances exceeding 13km under suitable conditions.

For best results, installation requires appropriate antenna alignment, a clear line of sight, suitable mounting, and consideration of environmental interference. Actual performance and distance depend on the installation environment.

Pharos MAXtream TDMA Technology

TP-Link's proprietary Pharos MAXtream TDMA technology helps improve wireless network performance by managing communication between connected devices. It is particularly useful for point-to-multipoint outdoor wireless networking applications where multiple wireless stations communicate with a central access point.

Multiple Wireless Operating Modes

The CPE220 supports several operating modes to provide flexibility for different networking requirements:

• Access Point Mode

• Client Mode

• Bridge Mode

• Repeater Mode

• AP Router Mode

• AP Client Router (WISP) Mode

These modes make the device suitable for different outdoor wireless network configurations.

Weatherproof Outdoor Design

Designed for outdoor installation, the CPE220 features an IPX5-rated weatherproof enclosure. Its outdoor construction supports operation in challenging environmental conditions.

It also includes 15KV ESD protection and 6KV lightning protection to help protect the device against electrical disturbances.

Passive PoE Installation

The TP-Link CPE220 supports passive Power over Ethernet through its LAN0 port. The included 24V passive PoE adapter allows power and network connectivity through a single Ethernet cable, supporting cable deployment up to 60 meters under suitable conditions.

This simplifies outdoor installation and helps reduce the need for a separate power connection near the mounting location.

Centralized Network Management

With TP-Link Pharos Control software and the PharOS web-based management interface, network administrators can configure, monitor, and manage compatible devices. These tools provide features for device discovery, monitoring, firmware upgrades, and network maintenance.

Whether you need an outdoor wireless bridge, long-distance connectivity, or point-to-multipoint networking, the TP-Link CPE220 provides a flexible solution for outdoor wireless applications.
